Alarming.
Many of you know na hindi na ako nagbabasa ng broadsheets or tabloid maliban na lang sa entertainment and lifestyle section.
Today's frontpage article in the Philippine Daily Inquirer though caught my attention.
It's the news article regarding the executive clemency of convicted murderer Claudio Teehankee Jr.
It was in 1991 when he killed 16year old Maureen Hultman and friend Roland John Chapman, and fatally shooting their companion Jussi Olavi Leino.
This was a high profile case then because of the people involved. I remember my parents discussing it over coffee in the morning when the newspaper is delivered.
Fast forward today, Mr. Teehankee was released from jail Friday night. Thanks to the executive clemency given to him by Ate Glo.
So ano ba ang masasabi nyo?
Nakakaloka?
Nakakagulat?
Or dedma lang?
Ewan.
Hindi mo lang talaga maiwasan ang bigyan ng malisya ang naging desisyon ni Ate Glo.
The release even happened at midnight last Friday. Normal pa ba yun?
Ayoko nang ielaborate ang details ng release ni Mr. Teehankee and the conditions and reasons of the executive clemency.
Ang sa akin lang, questionable na naman ang justice system natin. Fair ba ang nangyari?
Sino ba ang biktima dito?
Si Mr. Teehankee?
The murdered victims' family?
Tayo?

there's really something wrong when murderers go free and political activists are in jails.
im sure kung ordinary na convict ito, mabubulok sya sa kulungan.
gago talaga si GMA... malamang kung isa sa pamilya niya ang pinatay hindi niya yun palalabasin sa jail. tsk!

naman.. sana pibnaabot din ng 16 or 17 years si Erap..
tsk! galing talaga ni ate glo lahat kayang-kayang gawin pati mali pwede gawing tama at ang tama gawing mali.
sana lang makatanggap rin ng exec clemency ang mga more than 20
years na sa bilibid.
baka gawin niyang rason ang sikip ng bilibid kaya nagpalaya na naman..tsk!
Nakakalungkot isipin na marami sa atin ngayon ang makakalimot nito kung hindi mo pinaalala ang mga nangyari labing pitong taon na ang nakakaraan.
To be honest, hindi ko alam kung ano ang magiging reaction ko.
