The Ten Best Songs Of 2008

The year is about to end in a few days.

2008 produced wonderfully crafted and awfully hideous songs that either make your day worth living or terrorize your way of life. The latter (in my case) is Flo Rida's Low and the 48,000 versions of Rihanna's Umbrella.

Below is MBP's (ako) list of the ten best songs of 2008. This list was based from how it appealed to me and how relevant it is in my life.
Translation: sa sobrang gusto ko sa mga ito, gumawa ako ng sariling cd compilation, nasa favourites sila palagi ng playlist all year round at minsan ay ginawa ko rin silang ringtone, message tone at alarm tone. LOL

Char!

10. With You (Chris Brown)
- he was adorable when he released his debut single Run It but I came to love Chris Brown in this hit single. Edz introduced it to me, I did'nt love it at first but he was persistent that I listen to it closely and heartily I loved it.

9. That's Not My Name (The Ting Tings)
- I first heard of this band on MTV and I immediately loved it. The song is very catchy, it reminds me of the super duper old hit Name Game.

8. Always Be My Baby (David Cook)
- this was my favourite on American Idol. He turned Mariah's hit his own.

7. Womanizer (Britney Spears)
- the best comeback hit of the (teen) Queen of Pop. A to-die-for video to accompany it, what more could you ask for from Brit Brit. This is still my alarm tone.

6. 4 Minutes (Madonna)
- one of the best collaborations of all-time, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Nothing beats the Queen of Pop despite the age.

5. Bye Bye (Mariah Carey)
- talk about a 'morbid' pop song. I want this song in my funeral service. lol. This is my one and only favourite in the E=MC2 album.

4. Bleeding Love (Leona Lewis)
- Simon Cowell was right on his choice. The best martyr love song of the year. Boyce Avenue released an acoustic version of this song and I liked it too.

3. I'm Yours (Jason Mraz)
- a perfect background song whenever you travel.

2. Disturbia (Rihanna)
- the best dance song of the year. Very catchy and groovy at thesame time. The video is kinda weird but effective. My favourite Rihanna song so far.

1. Mercy (Duffy)
- this is the best song of the year for me because I always dig female rockers but Duffy is definitely a cut above the rest. The song is very rock chic. Those comparing her music to Amy Winehouse is definitely deaf. Duffy is soooo different from Amy's music (for the record, I like Amy). Mercy is modern and bare. Kinda like me. lol. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

That's it. I hope 2009 will give us something even better. I also wish there will be lesser hideous songs. Tama na ang novelty songs please. =p

P.S.
Walang OPM sa listahan ko kasi mas madalas akong makinig ng 'imported'. I love imported eh. =p

If you disagree with my list, make your own. LOL

P.P.S.
I currently love Muse's Supermassive Black Hole.

Blame it on the Twilight mania. Listen to it. Magandang pang-ringtone. =p
