25 Hours

Stressful.

I have not been out of town for a very long time.

A week to be exact. Lol

Out of Mindanao, well, more than 6 months na rin yata.

Nangangati na akong sumakay ulet sa eroplano or barko or jet or rocket, whatever. Basta gusto ko munang mag-pahinga. Mag unwind. Magpa-spa. Mag beauty rest.

Salamat for providing. Don't worry I'll be good for the next 3 months. To Manang, thanks din sa immoral support. Lol

Ngayon.

I have a problem.

Sa dinami-dami ng bags ko, I think I have at least 20, ay wala akong feel na gamitin para paglagyan ng aking mga gamit. Chos!

Actually, meron pero 'di masyadong feminine. Gusto kong magpaka-gurl for this next trip of ours. Kelangan 'vakazionista' ang look. Not 'backpacker' look. =p

Hello?!

Three days and three nights requires at least 6 wardrobe changes noh? Lol

To think, malaki naman ang katawan nya so it won't be a problem for him carrying it.

Unlike me who is so waif, purse lang dapat ang dadalhin ko. Haha

Tomorrow is Friday already. Isang tulog na lang at bakasyon na. =p

Yet, I have tons of paperworks to finish.

Damn!

Wish me luck.

Lost

Dilemma.

I'm having a hard time writing my next blog entry.

Walang spirit.

Walang emotion.

Mababaw.

Pero hindi boring. =p

The first one is about out-of-town trips. How I love and hate it. Comparison ng pros and cons.

The second one is about our weekend plan. I'm having a hard time on what things to bring. What bag to use. Where to stay. Etcetera, etcetera.

May 3rd draft pa akong nagawa the other day pa about what happened to me in CDO but I decided to trash it. Too dragging pero in the end nakakaantok. Lol

In the meantime, as a resident PROJECT RUNWAY Philippines spoiler (for those out of the country), the challenge for this week is a group challenge. The designers were divided into two teams of 3.

Create a 3-piece collection for retail store Cinderella out of deconstructing clothes found in the store.

Team 1, led by Eli with Mara and Philipp as team mates.

Team 2, Jaz was the leader, Veejay and Aries were team mates.

Don't go any further.

RESULT:

Team winner: Jaz's team

Challenge winner: Veejay

Yes! Finally may panalo na si Veejay. Congrats!

OUT: Eli

bleh! Ampalaya is so bad for you Eli. Masyado ka nang bitter.

auf wiedersehen!

Harsh Beauty

Not everyday do we always feel beautiful. We may look good in the outside but deep inside, sadness aside, we feel ugly and discontent.

Our standard of physical beauty sometimes become the basis of what we think of one person.

First impression.

Ang babaw.

I boarded the bus earlier this morning papuntang ciudad to make my routinary tasks.

I was dressed in my usual polo tee, jeans and sandals. In short, normal ako kanina.

Machong-macho.

But...

His long curly hair was bleached copper. He was wearing a spaghetti strapped tank top with glittery prints matched with denim short shorts and platform wedges.

I'm not shocked sa itsura nya. I'm used to seeing that. But the people around me however was totally surprised.

I heard laughter all over my side and one vocally commented how 'sexy' our sister is, but in a pangungutya way.

Dedma lang si sister.

Ganito talaga in this side of the bukid. They're not used to seeing this everyday.

Naawa lang ako sa kapatid natin 'coz I knew he was hurt by the people's reaction. Or not. I'm not sure.

Nung tumingin siya kung saan nakaupo ako, I smiled at him and mouthed 'dedma lang'. He smiled back.

Was it our sister's fault? Or the people around were just too judgmental?

I don't know.

All I know is that whatever makes you happy, express it. It may not conform to what the conservative society dictates, at the end of the day it's always you who's in charge of your own body.

Tomorrow, I'll be wearing a miniskirt.

Unwind

I just came back from the city of golden friendship (Cagayan de Oro) to meet a few friends.

Well actually, dalawa lang sila. And they're both guys. And they're straight. David and Ark.

I met them last summer and we had a blast. I was with KC and Edz then. Unfortunately, hindi sila nakasama this time. KC is sick. He has back pains (matanda na kasi, haha). Edz has school. So it's only me. Solo flight. If not for David and Ark's companionship, malamang I died of boredom there.

There's not much to do in CDO. Unless you're an adventurous slash sporty slash thrill-seeking type, then you can go whitewater rafting during the day. And if you're a night person, you'll enjoy CDO because it has a lot to offer. Nightspots there and everywhere 'til 5 or 6am at most.

Sorry walang photos, I did not bring my digicam kaya pagtiyagaan nyo na lang ang 'promotion' at 'advertorial' na ito. Lol =p

There's The Site near Lim Ket Kai Mall which offers an array of restaurants, bars and places to chill out. There's club Volume near SM. Fu and Eleven Fifty, both located within the city. There's more pero hindi ko pa napuntahan ang iba.

When in CDO, the best tourist attraction though is the Night Cafe in Divisoria, which happens every Friday and Saturday night. Think barbecue, beer and live band in the streets. It was created by the local government for tourists, both local and foreign. Everybody can enjoy it. The masa, the sosyal and the social climbers. Lol

According to Ark, may gay bars din in the city. Two, actually. The popular one is Navigator, and the other one, he forgot the name. Next time na lang daw. Hihi

The best place to eat for me is P.Joe's, Bigby's and Cagayan Steakhouse. Big serving and tasty within the budget food. All three of them are located near LKK Mall. Hanapin nyo na lang.

Anyway, my favourite is P.Joe's, na merong two branches, one inside SM & the other at The Site. Both locations has interesting memorabilias displayed. From Lance Armstrong's jerseys, old Coca-cola posters, & even an actual WWII plane hanging at the ceiling of their SM branch. Don't worry, hindi ito babagsak. =p

Hanggang dito na muna. I'm tired & sleepy.

Lol

P.S.

Thanks much to David and Ark. See you (again) soon!

Driving Miss Crazy

Oh yeah.

Konting tulog na lang ay gaganapin na ang next big event after the olympics and NY fashion week.

It will happen on the 27th of this month. 3 days before the actual date of the supposed 'big event' that happened 20 plus years ago.

Of course I'm talking about my birthday. Lol

Ang selfish noh?

Whatever. =p

We've already booked our tickets to a destination the 4 of us has agreed upon.

Hihi

Am I excited?

Not really. Medyo worried nga ako at baka maudlot na naman.

Hindi pa ako nakapag-paalam sa boss ko. Andami ko pa namang tatapusin na paperworks.

This should be done before 'that' day para naman positive siya towards me.

In the meantime, have I told you that Papa Piolo and Ate Angel (yes, Pascual and Locsin respectively) is actually here in the bukid of the 'Nons? Haha

According to my sources (e.g. katulongs and laborers) they're currently shooting their next film here. A few miles away from where I am.

Maybe an hour and a half ride siguro.

The actual location is the ranch of a municipal mayor whose son is the current horseback riding trainor of Angel.

The movie's crew (and the stars perhaps) is staying at the Royal Pines in the Malay of the Balay.

I've stayed there before. Maganda naman doon. Maliit yung room na nakuha namin but the bathroom is huge. The tub is huge. Puedeng magtampisaw ang tatlong tao. Haha

Anyway, according again to my sources, they're gonna be here daw for an entire month.

A client whose mother is working at the governor's office told me na hindi pa raw nagco-courtesy call sina Papa P and Angel kay Gov.

Oh well.

Someday, magtatagpo din kami ni Papa P.

Baka bukas.

Or mamaya.

Who knows. Baka kelangan nila ng extra. Kahit substitute sa kabayo tatanggapin ko. =p

Rollercoaster

After last week's non-elimination on Project Runway Philippines due to the fact that the worst dress was designed by the winner of the bridal gown challenge so he has immunity (although I did not like his wedding gown), two designers ang nasabihan ng 'INGAT' kanina.

The challenge was to create a romantic dress for a 'lovely' housewife to be worn on a dinner date with her hubby. The dress should have the signature color of Pond's, which is red.

Iisa-isahin natin.

Veejay: as usual maganda na naman ang ginawa nya, draping was beautiful. The fabric was not flowy but it was perfect because it was executed beautifully.

Aries: very sexy.

I was shocked when he said his model is only 25. Nagmukhang 50 sa damit na ginawa nya.

Jaz: maganda ang overall look although the rose detail bothers me. Malaki kasi. Infairview, hindi naman nagmukhang mother of the bride ang model nya.

Ava: mukhang basahan ang ginawa nya. Parang elementary pupil ang gumawa.

Mara: maganda ang mix ng colors. Very simple ang silhouette but it was draped beautifully.

At syempre, last and my least favourite contestant;

Eli: the short venus cut dress with obi belt complimented her model. Construction is good. It reminded me of carwash 'strips'.

Result:

WINNER/WHINER:

Sinuwerte na naman ang bruhang Eli. Panalo sa challenge.

By the way, umiral na naman ang matalim niyang dila. After calling Teresa as 'a model who just got lucky' a few episodes ago, kanina tinawag naman niyang 'OVERWEIGHT' si Rajo Laurel. Maldita noh? Lol

OUT:

Ava (for lack of range daw)

and

Ivan (for poor taste level)

Auf wiedersehen!

P.S.

Veejay for the WIN pa rin ako! =p

That's all.

So What Does It All Mean?

Last night nanaginip ako ng medyo 'di maganda.

Magulo.

Halu-halo ang mga pangyayari.

It was so negative, it involved death, sickness and darkness.

Three of my fears.

When I woke up around 7am I received an sms from mommy reminding to take extra care these days. She said nanaginip daw siya ng 'di maganda.

Hmmm..

I asked myself, could it be na magkapareho ang aming panaginip?

Anyway, she knows better than I do and wala naman siguro masama if sundin ko ang advice nya.

Been there and certainly ayoko nang maging biktima pa nila.

Kung ano man yung ibig sabihin ng aming panaginip, it actually reminded me na 'wag maging lenient and confident towards security dito sa amin.

Mahirap na ang panahon ngayon.

One more thing, that dream reminded me that this day is my uncle's death anniversary.

He died of prostate cancer in the 90's.

He was my mother's eldest brother. When Lolo died, he became the family's patriarch.

He was such a strong man. He never got married because he was too busy working for his siblings and my grandmother.

He lived with us when Daddy was out of the country.

I remember when he comes home from work (as a carpenter) in Marbel (South Cotabato), he would bring dalag or hito. He would then ask us to gather in the dirty kitchen and watch him kung papano ito ihanda. He would cook this with coconut milk and gabi.

It was always a feast then. Until he retired from his work due to his illness.

My most unforgettable moment with him though was when we travelled pauwi ng Iloilo. I sat in his lap during the bus trip. I think it was my first long distance trip and my stomach was not cooperating. I had diarrhea.

In short, tumae ako while sitting in his lap and his pants had shit. Lol

Gross noh?

I just wish Papa Oto is happy wherever he is now.

I hope he is happy seeing his nephew who grew up to become a pretty fierce niece.

Trapezoid

Naive.

Ganun pa rin ang tingin ko sa sarili ko in terms of tech stuff.

Or maybe dumb.

I'm not a techie or a gadget person. I don't like computer stuff. I don't play online games. Kahit gameboy or PSP ay 'di ko pinapatulan. Whenever I go online konti lang ang windows na ino-open ko. Maliban sa blogs ko and those in my links, I often go to style.com, friendster, facebook, youtube, coco rocha's website, e-bay, cwtv and bravo tv lang yata. Hihi

As you may have noticed, my blog's layout is just generic. As much as I wanted more style and stuff in it, 'di ko rin magawa kasi takot akong magkamali at baka mabura ko pa ito. May fear yata ako sa screwing up. Lol

I've tried to put some 'applications' but I just don't have the patience and the knowledge on how to put these on my layout. I can't even edit photos using adobe or photoshop. I am that ignorant. I have to seek help pa sa kapatid ko and my 'online' friends.

Pathetic noh?

Lol

I guess this is the downside of not listening and studying and participating in my IT classes in school.

Lol

Unfortunately for me, I am now paying the price.

Inaamin ko naman it's my fault to be this naive and disoriented.

Anyway, happy naman ako at content with the way things are going on in this blog.

I just wish sometime, someone or something will inspire me to go beyond my safe zone.

It would be nice to cross the other side.

Now, if only I knew how to insert a video in this entry.

I guess I have to figure this out muna.

Lol

Not So Mean Girls

Nasty.

As best of friends who don't see each other on a daily basis, our way of connecting with each other is through texts. Tama ng sabi nga ng Nokia: Connecting People. Which I think is true pero sa aming apat, ako lang ang gumagamit ng Nokia. Si KC Sony Ericsson, si Edz LG, at si Unique Samsung.

We always start our day with exchanging 'good mornings'.

Usually, ganito yung styles namin of greeting each other;

Edz: gud morning gurlz!mwah

KC: morning girls!

Unique: mowning gurls! Mwah!

Mel: murneng gurls..

Lol

Lol
7am ang simula ng kanyang work time.

Unique on the other hand is a grade school teacher na walang kahilig-hilig sa bata.

I, oftentimes is the last one to get out of bed. Eh nasa staff house ako natutulog, ilang inches lang ba ang layo ko from the workplace so no need to wake up early. Hihi

Anyway highway, our exchange of texts usually are boring.

Kamustahan.

Kapihan.

Kasiyahan.

Kanegahan.

Kalibugan.

Kalandian.

Kalalakihan.

Katangahan.

Kagagahan.

At iba pa.

At bilang Sex And The City girls, 'di rin namin maiwasan ang mag okrayan.

It's just normal.
It makes us laugh.

KC: Kabalo xa nga bana nimo xa ereng?
(alam ba nya na asawa mo siya?)

Edz: Kabalo mam, nanghid gani xa nga muapmar iibag..

Lol)

Mel: Teddy bear? Baka polar bear or grizzly bear. Lol

Unique: Bwahahaha! Bear or seacow? Lol

Unique: murag Dyosa ereng? Kuyawa oi!
(para kang si Dyosa? Kakagulat ha!)

Mel: no, not eagle. You're a boeing-747. Lol

KC: or airbus A300. =p

Edz: whatever!

At nagtawanan na lang kami.

Actually, hindi naman mataba si Edz, he's just 78kgs. Lol

Nagda-diet na rin siya ngayon through yoga and dancing.

And starving.

--------

In fairness to us, we only laugh and joke about our own physical 'deformities' even if sometimes below the belt na.

Paraan namin yun to encourage ourselves to 'lose weight'. Lol

Remembering The Twins

Where were you on Sept. 11, 2001?

What were you doing then?

Ako, nandito lang ako nun sa bukid. Nothing extraordinary about that day sa buhay ko.

Pero nang buksan ko ang tv, I was apalled, devastated and sad.

I remember tuning in to GMA-7 the entire day kahit nasa trabaho, wanting to know the updates of the horror that happened in the US of A.

Watching the footage of the twin towers collapsing within a few seconds, natulala lang kami ng mga kasamahan ko.

Who would've thought that this tragedy could happen to a superpower country.

That day made us all vulnerable.

Helpless.

Today, we remember the lives lost.

May they finally find justice and rest in peace.

I Thank You

Once upon a time, a pretty little boy was born.

He is not an ordinary pretty little boy.

When he grew older, he wanted to become a girl.

And so he tried his best to become a girl.

He joined contests for 'people like him', also wanting to become a girl.

But fate and luck is not on his side. Not just sometimes. Not just most of the time. But all of the time.

And he became famous as a Thank You girl.

I was a Thank You Girl.

Lol

A few hours ago, Edz, KC and I attended the Davao premiere of Direk Bebs' movie (na tatalo sa The Dark Knight) ang The 'Thank You' Girls.

We arrived before 8pm. Akala namin we're late na. Buti na lang at 'di pa pala nagsisimula.

A lot of people were gathered outside the Cinema 1 of Gaisano mall. Including the cast and of course, the very talented and beautiful director of the movie 'herself'.

Direk saw me first and yelled my name. Akala ko kung sino. I looked stupid because I did not recognise him.

Talking about my 'stupidest moment'. Lol. It was so awkward and nakakahiya in my part.

Direk, pasensya na. Na-starstruck ako eh. Hihi

Anyway, we made picture2x. Konting chika and we made our way inside the theatre.

So, what can I say about the movie?

It's an obviously funny film. But beyond its comedy is honesty and seriousness.

Would I recommend it to you?

Of course yes! =p

Watch it with your friends. The more, the merrier.

The 'Thank You' Girls
Regular showing in Davao City:

Sept.10 to 16,
Gaisano Mall

Schedules in Manila:

Advanced screening: Sept.23 9pm Robinsons Indiesine

Regular showing:
Sept.24 to Sept.30
Robinsons Indiesine

For more inquiries visit www.thethankyougirls.com

P.S.

Direk, thank you so much. Not only for the credits but for putting smiles in our faces through this movie.

Wa char! =)

Dry Spell

11 PM.

After a grueling 4 hours in the bus, I finally arrived home.

Home sweet home.

There's no place like home.

Home is where the heart and free internet access is. Lol

Earlier this evening as I was waiting for the bus to arrive at the terminal Ate called informing me that she read my 'panawagan' to 'sponsor' my birthday. Also, we made a little chica, kamustahan and everythang. There's some kinda holiday yata or some religious thingie sa place nila and working hours are restricted kaya wala masyadong magawa.

Anyway, she did not promise anything but I know she'll think of something. hihihi

On the other hand, the whole ciudad is wet. Edz went home early too after a 'gruesome' exam for his masters. Paano naman kasi, inuna pa ang trip to Bora. Hindi man lang nagdala ng notes para kahit papano ay may mababasa in their sparetime sa kanilang bakasyon. And by the way, whatever happened to the pasalubong? Lol

Haaay!

It's Saturday night and we're supposed to be out of our homes. I was supposed to meet my friend's new boyfriend who is so cute I wanna steal him and take him to bed. Pronto. Lol

I had just finished watching 2 episodes of Project Runway US Season 5 (episodes 7 and 8). Compared to its local counterpart, mas may personality pa rin talaga ang mga amerikano. Or mas talented at experienced lang talaga ang kanilang production.

Or both.

Or not.

It's your job to showcase them well. They deserve it!

Siguro.

Stuff Etc.

This is going to be a busy month for me.

Aside from the perennial deadlines at work, more personal stuff are piling up to be finished.

I have committed myself to carry out these things/tasks within this month. And I only have 3 weeks. Whew!

--------

On Monday, I vowed to attend the premiere night of 'The Thank You Girls' movie in Davao City. Sana ma-meet namin si Direk Bebs.

I have to report at work pa during the day and travel back by nighttime to attend the said event. Then back to work again the following morning.

--------

Amazing Race Asia season 3 will start on Sept.11, televised via AXN. Team Philippines is composed of couple Tisha Silang and Geoff Rodriguez.

One particular contestant however is gonna steal the show. Racing for team Thailand is Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova of Canada. Why Thailand? Because she is the wife of Thai tennis superstar Paradorn Srichaphan.

I just hope team Philippines this time will eventually win the race.

--------

I have not blogged about Project Runway Philippines since Lord's elimination.

I'm still watching the show and I plan to finish it. So far, eliminated contestants were 'deserving' to be 'out' of the competition. Charette and Winnie's performances were really not that exceptional. Bo, although very talented, I thought lost his passion for the competition and it showed at the episode of his elimination.

I still hate Eli.

And I still want Veejay to win.

--------

Since this is my birthday month, I am planning something special for myself.

Last year, we went to Bohol. This year, I'm still uncertain. Read: budget. Lol. I'm calling the attention of my beloved sister. I don't want this to be sponsored by visa, mastercard or jcb. Hahaha!

Regardless of where in the world I'm gonna end up on my birthday, I'm happy to say that I've accepted the fact that I'm already 'mature'. Lol

Crossed

I was walking beside the burned ruins of the old market when my suking pirata and I crossed paths.

He once owned a stall there, selling merchandise and goods that's more than enough to supply their needs.

Until that fateful night.

He accompanied me to their temporary stall, just beside the old market.

Unfortunately, these temporary stalls will be demolished tonight.

Once again, they're going to be displaced.

His wife sobbed while talking to me.

I did not comment further. I just bought pirated dvd's from them.

A good copy of Sex And The City movie and My Sassy Girl.

I hope I've helped them. I can't do anything. As much as I wanted to help ease her pain, I don't know what to do. I'm not a saviour.

I'm just me.

It was the appropriate thing to do.

I think.

And I walked away.

Must Love Dogs

I hate dogs.

I used to love them but after almost getting killed by one, I despise them na.

I'm a dog lover when I was little. I remember having a cute chubby brown dog.

Lol

When I was in Grade 2, naglalaro kami ng girl friends ng hoolahoop sa tapat ng aming bahay.

Bigla akong sinunggaban at kinagat-kagat.

Viciously.

(insert violent imagination here)

Eeew! =p

Rabies vaccine then was so expensive.
I remember Mommy and I dropping by the hospital before going to school so I could be injected with the medication, supposedly for 14 straight days. One shot per day.
Unfortunately, during my 7th shot, nagkaroon ako ng allergy. I had to take a different kind of vaccine. This time, 2 shots lang but the price tag was double.

I was eventually healed. But the scars of the teeth marks are still visible.

I still hate dogs. You can't blame me. But I don't hate them to the extent of hurting them.

I think may rabies pa ako. Lol

In A Glance

In less than 30 days I am going to be a year older.

Matanda na ako.

So old.

Like Madonna old. Lol

Malayo pa ako sa ganung edad noh. I'm still in my early 20's. Haha

Anyway, over the past years I've celebrated my birthday but honestly I am not happy about celebrating it.

When I got a little piece of brain para magamit sa pag-iisip, I thought, may enough reason ba to be happy about getting older? Well, existence for once. Experience. Life.
But what about the 'other' stuff.

I feel like everytime this time of the year comes, paubos ng paubos ang aking glass of water.

Eto na naman ako sa pagiging negastar.

I have so much things so do in this life. So many deadlines to finish. So many dreams unreached. So many promises that have yet to be fulfilled.

And yet, I think hindi pa ako nangangalahati.

Maybe I'm just having birthday blues.

I will just take my time.

Que sera sera.
