That's Not My Name

“Thank you for calling ***********, this is h@ygh%80)$b, may I help you?”

WHAT?

“What’s your name again?”

“My name is Nikeisha ma’am.”

“Ah ok, Nikeisha pala.”

Bwiset.

Ito ang madalas kong problema whenever I call credit card companies, mobile service provider and cable operator.

Either there’s something wrong with my auditory sensation or sadyang exaggerated lang talaga ang mga ‘accent’ ng mga customer service representatives on the other end of the line.

If there’s any person in this world who could understand inaudible words due to the thickness of the accent it should be me, why?

Because I’m British. Charot!

Siguro sa sampung tawag na ginawa ko, isang pangalan lang ang narinig ko ng maayos. The name was Anne. The rest of them, hindi ko maintindihan ang sinabi nila because they speak fast and may accent. Try niyo ngang tumawag sa credit card company niyo now and I bet you’ll never get their name. Hahaha!

According to my bestfriend KC, who works in a call center, part of their training is to speak with an American accent because the calls they receive is from the US.

Ok, I understand but that doesn’t mean na kelangan mag exaggerate noh.

Anyway, I know marami sa inyo diyan works in a call center kaya nananawagan ako. For the sake of me, the slow and sometimes bingi one, choose a simpler name.

Luningning perhaps?

Hahaha!
