Love Bug

If there’s one holiday that I despise most, it’s got to be Valentines Day.

I mean, what is there to celebrate noh?

It’s another pseudo-holiday created by the joined forces of greeting card makers and motel/hotel operators.

Valentine’s Day is sooooo commercialized. It’s worst than Christmas pa nga eh. At least kapag Pasko may gift giving, eh kung Valentines iba ang ine-exchange.

Fluids.

Hahaha!

Well, since the upcoming ‘celebration’ is just days away, pag-usapan na lang natin. Ok?

So how do you celebrate Valentines?

Normally, it’s a day where we get to express our love to people that we care.
In my case, that would be to my family, e.g. the Beckhams and the Pattinsons. Char!

When I was younger, like in grade school, we always make greeting cards for our parents and teachers, and then we give these personalized greeting cards to them on Valentines Day.

Not only do we get bonus points for creating them for our teachers but also may additional allowance pa from parents. At least that happened to me. I hope that schools today are still doing that thing because I think that that simple gesture always have an impact to both parties. It’s simple, honest and sweet.

In high school and college, Valentines Day is always Teachers Day. The celebration is big. May program the whole day where teachers are the focus. May games, parties and gift giving. We give flowers to the teachers we admire. Kawawa nga lang yung masusungit because they get fewer flowers. Pero wais kaming mga bobo. We always give our bouquet of flowers to the cruel ones because they always have the softest heart in terms of expressing love. Hey, it’s the only one chance to see their soft vulnerable side so we might as well grab the opportunity. Hahaha!

Seriously, whoever created Valentines Day should be praised.

I mean, sa isang taon ilang beses lang ba tayo mabibigyan ng panahon to express our feelings of love. A genuine love.

An honest love.

An expression where there is no room for diyahe because we, on that specific day, are obliged to say

“I LOVE YOU”

Valentines Day is not only for people in love.

It's for everybody that knows how to care.

Balikan ko nga yung sinabi ko sa first line.

Do I still hate it?

Maybe.

I don't care.

Hihi.
