Miriam and Fairness

On a high.

That was the exact feeling when I found out that my ever favourite power biatch Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago called for the abrogation of the Visiting Forces Agreement, saying that it is unconstitutional brought about by a certain provision where an American soldier convicted of a crime here in the Philippines, will be detained in a US controlled facility (like the US embassy), not in the custody of the Philippines.

Like in the case of US marine officer Daniel Smith.

Well, well, well….

It’s about time noh!

First of all, I commend the Ilongga senator and some members of the senate for taking a stand against the VFA. As far as I can recall, these senators in the forefront of the campaign for scrapping the VFA were also the ones in favor of the said agreement many years ago. Admitting that they made a mistake when they approved such agreement takes a lot of guts and courage.

“I told you so!”

Gusto kong sabihin sa kanila.

Anyway, at least they’re already discussing it now whether the VFA needs to be abolished (Sen. Santiago, Arroyo and Escudero) or just suspend it (Sen. Biazon and Pia Cayetano).

Either way, I think this decision is a ray of light for us, seeing our lawmakers take a stand in something that should’ve been done earlier.

Better late than never. Pero late pa rin.

The case of officer Daniel Smith just proved to us how unfair the VFA is.
One fugly biatch in the Malacanang by the name of Lorelei Fajardo (deputy spokesperson) said that the VFA doesn’t need to be revised or abolished just because of the controversial Daniel Smith case.

Eh gaga ka pala eh!
People like you are one of the reasons why I despise the government.
Maghihintay pa ba tayo ng panibagong paglabag sa ating batas para lamang ma-prove how wrong and one-sided the agreement is.

On a lighter note, don’t you think officer Daniel Smith is cute?

I so agree that the US should surrender and subject him to Philippine laws.

He should be detained in a Philippine-controlled facility.

In my room perhaps.

LOL

i just really hate it how they give Daniel Smith a special treatment despite the thing he did was clearly against the law.

dapat pantay-pantay lang.
