The Commission On Human Rights led by Chairman Leila de Lima is currently in the city to investigate the unsolved 888 vigilante-type executions from the year 1998 to the present, These killings is being linked to the “Davao Death Squad” and our mayor, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

First of all, I condemn the killings.
Nobody has the right to kill another individual.
I agree with Chairman de Lima in her statement that it is “one of the most audacious violations against the right to life in our times”.
Okay, enough with the formality. Hindi ako sanay. Char!
What do I think about this issue?
Well, I’ve been a resident of Davao City since relinquishing my British citizenship.
Etchos!
Actually, since birth.
It is where I grew up, learned a lot, experienced life and all that it has to offer me.
Like many places all over the world, peace and order situation in the city is struggling. The worst test was the time when terrorists bombed the pier and the airport, all in one year.
But with the current and general peace and order situation of our country, perhaps this is not an extraordinary thing. Manila, Iligan, Cotabato, Kidapawan has been a victim of terrorist attacks. Much worse than what Davao has experienced.
Based from what I experience everytime I am home, I feel safe.
Police visibility is present in the city. There are outposts everywhere.
You can make “balandra” your cellphone kahit nasa tabi ng kalsada without worrying that someone from nowhere will snatch it.
You can use your laptop at an open wifi restaurant minus the fear that someone with a balisong or a gun will hold you at gunpoint.
Walang ganyan sa Davao.
I am proud of that fact.
The CHR is kinda accusing our mayor that he has “knowledge” about the so-called the “Davao Death Squad”.
Sa totoo lang, I’m not even sure if the “DDS” really exists.
It’s all chika.
Chismis.
Hearsay.
As our mayor has stated during the inquiry, the CHR and that US-based Human Rights group MUST PROVE if that “DDS” really exists. And if they do, he will step down from office.
For the benefit of those who doesn’t know, “DDS” is a vigilante group daw responsible for the summary execution of alleged lawless elements, proven but not necessarily convicted by the court, specifically drug pushers, rapists, murderers, snatchers, and etc.
In short, pinapatay daw nila yung mga kriminal na napatunayang nagkasala pero hindi pa nasesentensyahan at patuloy pa ring tumatamasa ng kalayaan sa siyudad.
In fairness ha, when this “DDS” urban legend came out, the criminality rate of the city really dropped.
Noon, kahit saan may holdapan, may snatching, may drug pushing.
But now, wala na masyado. Takot lang nila na baka sila ang isunod ng “DDS”. Hahaha!
Okay, serious mode ulet.
I am one with our mayor.
The CHR is entitled to whatever they want to know. They have all the rights to investigate.
Sana lang ay mapatunayan nila ang kanilang mga akusasyon.
I just hope that this investigation will not be politicized by those individuals in the position who has perennial inggit kay Mayor.
Speaker Nograles, leave Mayor Duterte alone. You will NEVER be mayor of Davao City.

I support Duterte rin. Vigilante or not, kung talaga namang pasaway ka, dapat ka na idispatcha.
In my far flung village in Davao, I've heard rin nga dat most of the drug addicts and akyat bahay youth were all killed in an instant - and those alive just stopped and are now afraid na nga...
Sometimes I think ... it is good to have some sort of Vigilante Groups like X-men, Darna or Batman, etc! Or DDS nga... Kasih nga the courts and majority of the police officers are slow and corruptible - to the point that you can say they promote and serve crime itself nga!
So I would say "DESPERATE TIMES CALLS FOR DESPERATE MEASURES!, but I am not saying that DDS or so exists!
