Fire Island

For the third time, the girls, Edz, Michael, Unique and I went to the volcanic island of Camiguin for our holy week vacation.

Hindi kasi namin afford ang mag out of the country kaya dito lang kami napadpad. Hahaha!

In fairness, maganda din naman dito. It’s still breath-taking and majestic.

We are currently staying with a very friendly host, the Pabua family.

Very hospitable folks, not to mention good-looking children who also serves as our guide. Like we needed a guide pa ha, but if a gorgeous guy offered himself to be your guide, tatanggi ka pa ba? Mahina lang kami. Hahaha!

Anyway, if it’s your first time in Camiguin, I suggest that you hire a tour guide to assist you in exploring the island. It is also wise to follow their itinerary.

But like us who have been here before, we decided to stray from the usual. Surprisingly, may mga spots pa pala kami na hindi napuntahan. One of them was Tuasan Falls. (see photos below)

It is a must see place. Be prepared to hike though. The location is kinda remote and unexplored.

Other must see places are Mantigue Island, Mt. Volcan, and the infamous White Island. Other than those places, I find the other tourist spots, mediocre. LOL

Here are some of our photos.

Enjoy!

If you plan to visit Camiguin, it is best to come during the Holy Week so that you can also take part in the province’s religious activities/traditions. It is also best to come during the months of April and May.

Reminder: If you want to experience total freedom while in the island, avoid booking yourselves in traditional resort hotels where there are curfews and very strict rules.
We always stay at the cottages provided by the locals. They always make you feel at home. Just be sure there are enough security.
We’re so lucky with the Pabua family. You can reach them through (088)3879033.

That’s all.

Iba ba yang Mantigue Island kay sa White Island? Ive been to the White Island pero mas promising ata ang Mantigue Island. Ang saya!

Ate Lyks: oo iba siya, may konting vegetation sa Mantigue Island, may residents din. For me mas maganda siya kesa White Island.

una - kalurkey ang poses mo mel - uber fierce!

ikalawa - i agree with you the camiguin is one of the little known precious holiday destinations around. i worked there for 4 months in 1994. i always say those were some of my most peaceful, restful times.

i miss it so! kaya ang resolution ko - i will go back soon!
