Summer Lovin'

April in the Philippines means the start of summer.

Well that is true, before global warming.

Anyway, I know many of you has plans na mag-bakasyon especially next week since it’s Holy Week. Medyo mataas-taas ang time for leisure.

Most of you I’m 108% sure pupunta sa beach.

Boracay.

Puerto Galera.

Pagudpod.

Batanes.

Cebu.

Sarangani.

CamSur.

At iba pa.

My friends and I are also planning for a beach getaway next week.

To fully enjoy your vacation, I want to share with you my favourite songs for the summer.

10. Soak Up The Sun (Sheryl Crow)
-the best background music when you go sunbathing or playing volleyball. It’s actually a sad but optimistic song but the beat keeps you energized you just can’t help but smile. Char!

9. Surfin’ USA (The Beach Boys)
-the best song whenever you’re in the water with your loved ones or friends. Whether you’re in the USA or not, I’m sure you’ll agree with me in saying that this is the perfect summer song for all places.

8. Summer Son (Texas)
-kung ‘di niyo naman feel ang outside world this summer dahil sa isang heartache or sadyang negastar ka lang talaga towards summer, then this is the song for you. It makes you hate yourself more. Magpaka-bitter ka while enjoying this song.

7. Scar Tissue (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
-the best song when joyriding with friends. Don’t expect a Celine or Regine from me while enjoying the byahe papuntang destination noh. This song is simply ‘cool’.

6. Waterfalls (TLC)
-I included this song in the list because it reminds me of my two other bestfriends Ronnie and Tzardy who is currently in different parts of the globe. We use to sing this song during our summer outings and even climbing Mt. Apo.

5. Stand By Me (Ben E. King)
-the perfect song on an acoustic summer night with your super duper bestfriends. Brilliant lyrics, catchy rhythm. In some cases, especially when toxic, danceable. Hahaha!

4. Under The Bridge (All Saints)
-isn’t it obvious that I’m a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers? LOL. This song is perfect for a lazy afternoon while relaxing after a whole day of swimming or hiking, contemplating on someone you dearly miss.

3. Honey, Honey (ABBA)
-spending summer with your partner, walking along the beach or hiking your way up to a hill, jogging early in the morning, strolling and shopping for souvenirs, this is the perfect song for that moment.

2. Hot N Cold (Katy Perry)
-this has to be in the list because it’s my current favourite. Hahaha! Regardless kung pang-summer ba siya or not I don’t care. If you just want to party all night, then this song should be in the DJ’s list.

1. Are You Lonesome Tonight (Norah Jones)
-the one love song for a cold summer night while longing for a lost love or seeking for a love that you want in the instance to make you wet…. I mean, happy.
