Tulad ng list na ito about women who either mattered or made sense or just because they made it to the news in 2009. It doesn’t mean that I admire them noh, although they wouldn’t made it to my list if I didn’t liked them in the first place. Charing!
By the way this is not in ranking order ha. Random lang ito.
So, here it is. My list of The Women of 2009.
Lady Gaga

The most visible, interesting and controversially talented artist of 2009, Lady Gaga is being deemed as the New Generation’s Madonna. After Just Dance, Poker Face and Paparazzi, she is now back (bakit nawala ba siya?) with a new hit Bad Romance. Juice ko ‘day, LSS ko na ‘to parati. Nakaka-gaga itong si Lady Gaga.
Megan Fox

I may not like her but this little diva is one helluva eksenadora. Men worship her, women envy her and I hate her for being beautiful. She is being tagged as the next Angelina Jolie and even managed to snatch the Armani ad campaign from Victoria Beckham, proving that this biatch has arrived not only in Hollywood but also in the world of fashion.
Kate Gosselin

Probably the most talked about hairstyle after Jennifer Aniston. Kate entered the world of entertainment together with husband Jon and their 8 children via the reality show Jon & Kate Plus Eight. Although the show has now been cancelled, it did not stop her from calling everything quits. She is scheduled to star in a show of her own next year. Sana wala na ang mga bata, masyado na silang na-exploit.
Victoria Beckham

This list wouldn’t be complete if wala ang lola ko noh. This year, Victoria became more popular than her superstar husband but still maintained her most important role in life, being a mother. After calling it off with the Spice Girls, she continued to be in the limelight juggling work as a model, endorser, designer and of course, guest judge on American Idol. We’ll definitely see more of her next year.
Charice Pempengco

A superstar still in the making, Charice made us proud to be a country with so many talents. Her debut single Note To God did not became a hit but she continues to make us proud by appearing in various events and performances together with world class talents and celebrities. She is also appearing in the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks so hindi pa rin chaka ang career ng lola niyo. More projects to come next year, hopefully.
Kate Winslet

Being nominated for an Oscar many times and still not winning, this year became Kate’s lucky year. Starring in two powerhouse movies, Revolutionary Road and The Reader, it would have been very controversial if she didn’t win. Her performance on both movies are spectacular and emotionally riveting. Totally deserved.
Susan Boyle

Holding the record for the most viewed video on YouTube, Susan Boyle surprised all of us when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent. She did not win the competition but she became the most successful contestant in the history of the reality contest. With a chart topping debut album at hand, Aling Susan is not going anywhere.
Jinkee Pacquiao

With a superstar boxer and a womanizing one at that as a husband, Jinkee showed us what a wife and mother should do in times of controversy. Stand by your man and beat that bitch. Manny’s money is for the family only noh, not the other one’s family. Despite the pain and heartache, it did not stop her from invading Chanel, Hermes and Gucci, proving to us and to that slut who really has the money/Manny.
Maricar Reyes

Who wouldn’t recognize this woman from that raunchy sex videos. But instead of hiding and probably sulking in the dark, she exposed herself in the world of local showbiz. She even made it to the cover of Metro magazine, telling her side of the story. I admire Maricar for being a strong woman despite the controversy. Silence indeed is her strongest weapon.
The Aquino Women

The death of our beloved president Cory Aquino put the rest of the Aquino women into the limelight. Hindi na lang si Kris ang star ng pamilya but also Ballsy, Pinky and Viel. They showed us a different Aquino unlike Kris. Simple, down to earth and tactful. After their brother Noynoy declared his bid for the presidency, all his sisters were there to support him. They showed us the importance of the family’s role in times of grief and whenever we needed them most.
Well, that’s it mga friendship. I hope you like my list.
Until next year.
