Masakit.
Malungkot.
Mahapdi.
Nakakabagot.
Limang love letters ang natanggap ko last weekend. Pare-pareho ang kailangan nila sa akin.
They all need me.
My utmost reply and attention.
Pero hindi ko sila feel. I only want them when I need them. Not the other way around.
How I wish I had the discipline to control them.
Not control me.
Now I'm so broke, halos walang natira sa kakarampot kong suweldo.
Lecheng love letters.
Heto ako ngayon on a Saturday night, nakamukmok sa kuwarto kumakain ng junk food, nursing a wounded heart, a wounded wallet, and a wound (as in sugat) sa paa.
Life is cruel.
Makatulog na nga.
This is my life's misadventures, experiences, opinions, and judgments on facts of life and everything imaginable within my radar. I am Mel. The other Beckham. Let's talk lite. Life ain't heavy.

Banned Aid
In the world of advertising in the United States, the most expensive tv commercial spot is during the Superbowl.
If I’m not mistaken, this year the Cardinals and the Steelers are the teams batling for the much coveted championship.
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals submitted a tv commercial to be shown during the said momentous event. The ad is to encourage people to Go Veg.
Unfortunately, the ad was not approved.
This is the third time PETA was denied of that tv ad spot.
See the controversial video HERE.
What do you think?
Well, as far as I’m concerned, the tv ad is ‘too sexy’ but there’s not wrong with it.
I like sexy. Hahaha!
Anyway, I think sinasadya din talaga yan ng PETA kasi they get more media attention than what they would get from that Superbowl spot.
Di ba?
At global attention pa ang makukuha nila noh.
Who cares about Superbowl.
Walang Superbowl sa third world.

Depression
My gosh!
Hahaha!
Anymisery, it’s so sad that despite the good news brought to us by a few of our countrymen, e.g. Charice Pempengco ay natatabunan naman ito ng mga kagagahan at kabaliwan ng mga balitang nakakahiya dahil kung sino pa itong mga nasa posisyon ay siya pang nangunguna sa kabulastugan sa ating bansa.
First Pig, este, Gentleman Mike Arroyo is once again involved in yet another bidding scandal.
DOJ and PDEA agents involved in a bribery scandal.
The fertilizer fund scam by former government official Joc-joc Bolante.
DPWH, Dept. of Finance, and the Office of the Ombudsman accused of neglect of duty by the ever scary Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago, ‘di bala? (love her!)
And the most depressing of all,
Ruffa Gutierrez writing a book about her life with Yilmaz Bektas because she wants her children to know what really happened.
Nakakaloka noh? Hahaha
Day, pag-sure oi!
Anymoremisery, I think I can no longer stand all of these.
I might reconsider giving up my Filipino citizenry and be a full-blooded
British.

Mwahahaha!
You know, the Beckhams.
At ang aking mga equally beautiful and pretty and sexy and gorgeous cousins na sina
Kate Moss,
Kate Winslet,
Kate Beckinsale, at
Cate Blanchett.
Mas okey yata manirahan sa England noh.
Wala doon si First Gentleman at si Aling Gloria.
Wala doon si Joc-joc at Sec. Gonzalez.
Wala doon ang de Belen sisters.
At higit sa lahat, may snow doon.
Hahahaha!
Hmmmmm…
Matawagan nga si Tiya Vicky.

Stop Hunger Now
Because once upon a time, my siblings and I had nothing to eat except porridge for days.
Because once upon a time, my mother had to sell the guavas and’ balimbings’ from our backyard so that she can buy decent food for us.
Because once upon a time, I was a pretty little gurl who goes to school with an empty stomach.
Because once upon a time, in school I only had water to fill my empty stomach with and had to stay at the library to read books so that I may forget the feeling of hunger.
How lucky am I to survive those times.
Those were a thing of my past but hunger is still an issue up to now.
There are still children from all over the world who have no access to healthy food to eat and potable water to drink.

The World Food Programme by the United Nations is one of the many organisations created to help feed the world and someday eradicate the problem of hunger on the face of the planet.

That's Not My Name
“Thank you for calling ***********, this is h@ygh%80)$b, may I help you?”
WHAT?
“What’s your name again?”
“My name is Nikeisha ma’am.”
“Ah ok, Nikeisha pala.”
Bwiset.
Ito ang madalas kong problema whenever I call credit card companies, mobile service provider and cable operator.
Either there’s something wrong with my auditory sensation or sadyang exaggerated lang talaga ang mga ‘accent’ ng mga customer service representatives on the other end of the line.
If there’s any person in this world who could understand inaudible words due to the thickness of the accent it should be me, why?
Because I’m British. Charot!
The name was Anne. The rest of them, hindi ko maintindihan ang sinabi nila because they speak fast and may accent. Try niyo ngang tumawag sa credit card company niyo now and I bet you’ll never get their name. Hahaha!
According to my bestfriend KC, who works in a call center, part of their training is to speak with an American accent because the calls they receive is from the US.
Ok, I understand but that doesn’t mean na kelangan mag exaggerate noh.
Anyway, I know marami sa inyo diyan works in a call center kaya nananawagan ako. For the sake of me, the slow and sometimes bingi one, choose a simpler name.
Luningning perhaps?
Hahaha!

From A Distance
Everytime I write an entry for my blog, there's always something at the back of my mind telling me na baka mali ang grammar ko or spelling or whatever, then some grammar police from the perfect world would correct my 'errors'.
Honestly, I don't care.
I know I'm not perfect and oftentimes may mali talaga but at least I'm trying and practicing to 'perfect' my craft here so spare me the necessary corrections.
But then again, nobody is perfect, so why practice. Charot! Corny. LOL
Anyway, what's important for me is that, kahit na hindi ako biniyayaan ng sobrang talino to rival Christiane Amanpour or Michelle Obama, kuntento na ako sa fact na I'm as pretty and sexy as Miranda Kerr and Agyness Deyn.
Bwahahahaha!
---------------
Kanina, as I was travelling back to our humble office, the truck infront of us caught my attention and I couldn't help but laugh.
Ito ang nakita ko.
.jpg)
Mwahahahahaha!
.jpg)
Mwahahahahaha!
Magagalit si Bette Midler niyan.

Mean Girls Strike Again
What would you do if someone accessed your facebook or friendster or myspace or blog or multiply account then altered some information that was posted there?
What if you knew the culprit?
What if the culprit is your bestfriend?
You’ll be pissed of right?
Well, that’s exactly what happened to us.
The three of us, Edz, KC and I joined forces to ‘hacked’ our dear adorable friend Unique’s friendster account and changed his primary photo.
From his Rihanna in drag photo (according to him),

we changed it to a pretty photo of
Rosa Rosal.

LOL
Funny noh?
Not!
Unique was so pissed off he called us ‘traydors’.
Ouch.
This is one joke that we truly regret doing.
Itong si KC kasi, sulsol ng sulsol. Hahaha

Talk Barack
Everybody is talking Obama.
Lahat na yata ng news channels is covering the inauguration.
Actually, I’m happy that everyone is paying attention to this wonderful event.
I was planning to watch the ceremonies live on tv but unfortunately, I was too busy dreaming.
Oh well, buti na lang CNN is always there to cover everything. Kung mag commercial man, then switch to BBC for a different angle. Hahaha
Seriously, I am very much hopeful on Pres. Obama’s plans for the world. The ‘change’ will be finally realized. I just hope that his administration will support him and the people will cooperate and be supportive of the ‘change’ he has been planning for many years. I am also optimistic that the first lady, Michelle Obama will be a huge instrument in shaping the future his husband would want to see.
On a more serious note, let’s talk about fashion.
During the inaugural ceremony, the first lady wore a yellow dress by Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo. She’s not that popular like the ’usual suspects’ but she is truly an artist.

She looks so elegant but means business. Very royal ang dalawa.
Meanwhile, on the inaugural ball, Michelle wore a white chiffon gown by 26 year old Taiwan-born, NY based designer Jason Wu.

Whew! She looks like a goddess! The two of them looks better than the royal family of Britain during coronation. In fairness cutie ang guard sa tabi. Hihihi
What a relief.
Michelle was stunning in both looks.
I can totally see her as the next Jackie Kennedy.
Style icon.
P.S.
Why was Beyonce there? I heard she and her family are all registered Republicans. If that were true, kung nandoon lang ako, hihilahin ko ang buhok niya. LOL

Dahil tinatamad pa akong mag-post, I'll just share the photos my friend Ian took during our weekend at the beach.
Enjoy.

Eto pa. Sinong mas fierce? Siyempre ako. Hahaha

Me, Edz and Ian.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?
LOL

The three of us plus dear friend Dave, the 'labz' of my life. hihihi

Me and Ian. Look closely, may duwende sa gitna. LOL

KC sunbathing (daw).
Dyosa Agua, is dat chu?
Cam-whoring much?
Hindi naman masyado.
You should see Ian's, mas narcissistic pa siya kay Tyra Banks. LOL

In Cold Blood
The cold weather is killing me.
The only best thing about this kind of weather is that I get to wear jackets, coats, and boots of every proportion. Haha
I love the rainy season but when it's perishing many people and leaves a lot of damages, so not fly.
The city of Cagayan de Oro is literally in waters due to heavy rains that brought floods. I think this is the first time na naranasan nila ang ganitong problema.
Not only in CDO though. Other affected areas are Iligan City, Gingoog City, and portions of Misamis Oriental.
Here sa bukid, it's been raining since last week and most of us has sipon and trangkaso already.
Having colds is so not fashionable.
Kahit best in outfit and make up ka pa but if you have a runny nose, singhot ka ng singhot every now and then, it's definitely 'uncool'.
Word credit: Jennifer Aniston
Last night pumunta kami sa isang client who invited us in their town fiesta.
Nakakahiya ako kasi I was dressed down in hoodies and 'short shorts'. Not to mention my bloody annoying sipon.
So shameful I went home earlier without paalam. I later apologised though.
Now, it's been days and I'm still enduring this disease.
I am taking vitamins twice a day so that would've lessened the agony but unfortunately parang hindi na ako tinatablan.
What do I need to do or take to get rid of this?
Please help.
P.S.
My throat is kinda harsh and sort of makati this morning. I fear baka ubo na ang kasunod nito.

Satan Subdued
Operation: Dream Crushing a.k.a. American Idol started its 8th season yesterday.
May pagbabagong ginawa this season. A fourth judge is added to its 'credible' panel, in the person of hitmaker Kara Dioguardi.
Kara is the woman behind many of today's hit including those by the Pussycat Dolls, Jewel and Celine Dion to name a few. Although she's not as popular as Paula Abdul, she's credible enough to be a judge.
The show kicked off its 8th season in Phoenix, Arizona. Home of Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks. 27 hopefuls were given a ticket to Hollywood for the next round including a blind but truly gifted guy, a female rocker whose bandmates were not aware of her 'future plans', and most notable of all is a girl who came to audition wearing a bikini.
Abangan na lang natin if they move up to the next round.
Surprisingly, 'evil' judge and all-time favourite critic Simon Cowell was a bit 'nicer'. Maybe because he broke up with his long time girlfriend and finally realized he should be a little nicer.
Or maybe he was affected by the economic downfall, pati ang pagiging mean at rude niya is also on its recession stage.
Well, it's too early to tell pa. Unang araw pa lang naman ang naipakita.
Who knows, in the coming days Satan Jr. will release his inner evil and lash everybody that's coming his way.
I also want to see Kara a little mean. She looks mean kasi.
LOL
On a different note (pun intended), I think being 'deaf' increases confidence and self-esteem. American Idol is one platform where we see (and hear) a different kind and a higher level of confidence.
You think so too?
Watch American Idol (in the Philippines) every Wednesday and Thursday 6pm on Starworld.

GG
The Golden Globe Awards finally took place last Monday after a year of ‘absence’ due to the Writers’ Strike.
Kate Winslet was the night’s biggest winner, taking home the trophies for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress for The Reader and Revolutionary Road respectively.
Almost all of the actors were dressed to the nines except for a few misses but nevertheless it is one of the best dressed shows for a very long time.
Entertainment shows has already announced their best and worst dressed of the evening. Some shows contradicting to the others. Depende lang siguro sa taste nila.
Drew Barrymore was both named the best and worst dressed. Same with Eva Mendes and Rita Wilson.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Basta’t nag-enjoy sila that evening. Ending on the best and worst dressed list is not a big deal. Bad publicity is still publicity. Kudos to their stylists and publicists. LOL
To sum this up, here are my choices for the best and ‘not so best’ dressed of the evening.
BEST
January Jones in Versace

Grace Kelly is dat chu?
Eva Mendes in Dior

Classic with a twist. Bib ba yan or necklace? hihi
Olivia Wilde in Reem Accra

I want to wear this in my next evening affair, only bigger. lol
DISAPPOINTING
Cameron Diaz in Chanel

Day, lasing yata ang glam squad mo. lol
Jennifer Lopez in Marchesa

Parang foil na nasunog sa oven.
May Skeletor pang katabi. lol
Marisa Tomei in Oscar Dela Renta

Esmeralda, is dat chu?
That's all.

Forced
I am currently having problems connecting to the world wide web.
As you all know, mahirap ang connection dito sa bukid.
I have to rely solely to mobile internet service providers a.k.a. Smart and Globe.
May wifi naman dito but it's 30 minutes away from where I stay and security is so not safe. The best wifi hotspot dito sa bukid is an hour away sa city but I rarely go there. Oftentimes when I'm in the city I always do work-related stuff, e.g. bank transactions, client follow-ups and etc. Walang time for myself or mag-surf.
Anymisery, Smart connection here now is terrible.
You know whenever may 'weather trouble' dito sa amin, naaapektuhan ang signal nila.
Really.
I think the catastrophe that is happening in Cagayan de Oro now is the 'reason' why mahina or walang signal ang majority of the municipalities dito sa bukid.
Chaka Khan much?
So now, I am using Globe Visibility, pero mahina pa rin ang connection.
Next to nothing, like 30-40kbps.
Pathetic noh?
Anyway, pagtiya-tiyagaan ko na lang muna ito. And pasensiya na rin if I haven't kept in touch with most of you now. Blame it on the mobile service providers. Not on me. Hahaha!

Not on me. Hahaha!

Fading
My fabulous tan lasted for only 10 days.
Lecheng tanning lotion yun. Either it doesn't work or kulang sa required sun protective factor ang ginamit ko. Or maybe matapang na talaga ang rays ni haring araw it would probably require 1000sph ingredients to protect our skin naparusahan tuloy ako ng mahapding sunburn.
Now I'm struggling to get back that skin color.
Problem is, walang sun ngayon. I'm not even sure if magkaka-araw dito ngayon. The weather is not so cooperative. It's drizzling uncontrollably. Hahaha!
Anyway, we'll probably stay for the whole day. It's not just me who wanted a little bit of color. Charing! LOL
Hanggang dito na muna.
Tinatawag na ako ng beach.

All New Mean Girls
I am a fan of the movie Mean Girls. I consider it one of the best films ever made in the entire world. Almost thesame level as, maybe, Schindler's List or No Country For Old Men. LOL
At the end of the movie, all four of them 'changed'. I'm not saying they're no longer mean but it was a happy ending for all of them.
What if...
In real life they really exist.
They grew up to become rich, professional and powerful.
And they star in a reality show.
Sino na kaya sila ngayon?
Well...
Hindi lang yun, some even extend their meanness to their staff and crew.
Oh di ba? Ibang level na ang mga gaga. LOL
Here are my four choices of the all grown up, modern, cruel yet fabulous MEAN GIRLS.
(this is in correct order, meaning from mean to meanenest. hahaha)
The All New KAREN SMITH

KELLY WEARSTLER: former Playboy playmate (1994) turned interior designer now judge on Bravo TV's Top Design. She's mean because she criticizes all of the contestants's works when she herself should be criticized for her wardrobe in the show. Siguro walang salamin at suklay sa bahay niya. bwahahaha
The All New GRETCHEN WIENERS

NINA GARCIA: Elle magazine's former fashion director turned Editor-at-large, judge on Bravo TV's Project Runway. On one occasion, a little girl called her "Meana Garzilla". hihihi
The All New CADY HERON

TYRA BANKS: former supermodel turned businesswoman turned reality tv show host, turned daytime talk show host, judge and host of the 48 cycles of America's Next Top Model. She's mean kasi marami na siyang pinaiyak na contestants, giving them false hopes. Pati si Isis King napagtripan. tsk
The All New REGINA GEORGE

ANNE SLOWEY: fashion news editor of Elle magazine, host and head judge of CW's Stylista. She reminds me of Miranda Priestley but not in a good way. Maybe she's trying to 'duplicate' Meryl Streep's character noh. Infairness to her, she's not that 'trying hard', kasi nga natural na sa kanya ang pagiging mean. hahaha
There you have it!
My only wish now is that, we should make this world a better place to live in. Being mean is ugly. But being mean yet beautiful and fabulous is waaaaay much better.
LOL

Tommy Hilfiger

Like every start of the year, we always make resolutions na kelangan ay matupad or magawa natin at the end of the year.
Taon-taon, I always have resolutions but most of the ones in my list, unfortunately, ay hindi natutupad.
Especially ang resolution na pina-promise ko every year but always fail.
I am of course, like millions of people all over the world, talking about
LOSING WEIGHT.
Yes.
I do it every year. It’s always on top of my list. And at the end of the year it always end up on top of the list of resolutions pa rin na never natutupad.
This year, I am still including LOSING WEIGHT in my list of resolutions. Nasa top pa rin siya gaya ng dati but this time I will make a promise. Not only will I lose weight, I also promise to reduce my waistline, bidding farewell to my beer belly and hopefully getting abs.
Whooooooh!
AMBISYOSA! LOL
50 lbs. is a lot ha.
That’s so hard but I will try my best.
Hahahahaha! Good luck to me.
Anymisery, I want to share with you my dear friends my probable ways of achieving my goals. If you happen to have the same resolution as mine, you can also follow these weight-loss tips. This is not something drastic. It’s a regular thing to be practiced. Religiously. So patience is necessary.
Here it is.
- I don’t eat breakfast but this year I’m going to everyday. A heavy one para hindi ako gutumin hanggang hapon. I will not eat a heavy lunch, dapat small bites lang. An apple perhaps and drink lots of water. If I crave for something I will just have coffee.
Tip: if you crave but you’re still not hungry, go to the bathroom and brush your teeth again. That way you’ll no longer want to eat something for that period of time kasi katatapos mo lang mag-toothbrush. Di ba? Hihihi
- Umiwas sa fast food. Huwag mag-shopping sa mall ng gutom. Kung nasa mall ka at gutom, chances are you want to grab a quick bite. Eh ano pa nga ba ang pinakamadaling puntahan kapag gutom, eh di fastfood. Magtiis ka bruha ka. LOL
- Minimize alcohol intake. Or better yet, stop alcohol intake. Pati softdrinks na rin. Go for diet sodas or fruit juices.
- Do sit-ups every morning. Hahaha
- Drink lots of water. Bahala na kung feeling mo ay para ka nang waterbed sa dami ng tubig na nainom, the more water, the better. Siguro. =P
- Dahil tamad at wala akong panahon mag-gym, the best exercise I can do is walk. In that case, maglalakad lang ako from house to bukid and vice versa. Char!
- Goodbye muna sa chocolates. Huhuhu
- I will start the above mentioned tasks tomorrow.
Waaaaaaaaaah!
I just hope at the end of the year I will achieve this nearly impossible goal.
Tommy Hilfiger would be very proud to see me no longer Tummy Ill-figure.

Triplets

Watching Kris Aquino twice a day is fun. Quite a handful but that’s her.
Yesterday, on her talk show with Boy Abunda, as she was talking about her brand new hairstyle, she said the funniest thing I’ve heard from her since Pido Dida.
“ I am Victoria Beckham.”

Bwahahahahahaha!
Whaaaaat?!
I know. It may not sound funny for you but for me sobrang nakakatawa.
Hello? What the hell was she thinking? LOL
First of all, let me get this straight.
I like Ms. Kris.
I like her personality.
I like the way she look.
I like her “hosting skills”.
I like her personal style.
I like her in Pido Dida.
I like her in Fatima Buen.
I like her in Feng Shui.
I like her in Sukob.
But calling herself “Victoria Beckham” is funny. As in ‘hahahaha’ funny!
Hey, calling yourself Victoria Beckham is extremely different from ‘claiming’ to be a Beckham, e.g. ME. Bwahahahaha!
But this is not about me anyway, it’s about someone else so ‘wag tayong ma-divert sa main topic.
Charing!
In all fairness to Ms. Kris, medyo hawig naman talaga ang hairstyle niya ngayon kay Tita Vicky.
Isa pa, medyo nasa the same wavelength din ang kani-kanilang buhay.
Let’s state the facts:
Number one, they are both married to sports superstars. Ate Kris to James Yap, and Tita Vicky to David.
Number two, both of them ‘design’ clothes. Ate Kris for Kashieca and Tita Vicky for ‘dvb’ and Rock & Republic.
Number three, they have ‘outrageous’ (sometimes) taste in fashion. They are particular in their custom-made pieces. Ate Kris goes to Puey, JC, or Martin Bautista. Meanwhile, Tita Vicky goes to Cavalli, etc.
Number four, they both have adorable children and always brag about them.
And last but not least, they both have musical albums. Bwahahahaha!
Teka.
Parang ako din yun ah.
In high school, a soccer player and I were ‘a thing’.
In college, a star basketball player and I use to go out. It lasted a month.
I also design clothes for my sisters and close girl friends. I even made a dress I wore during the evening gown competition at a Miss Gay contest.
I had couture pieces made for me by our neighborhood mananahi Manang Quila.
I also adore boys, as long as they’re at least 18 years old.
Albums? Meron din ako nun. Apat pa.
Photo albums.
Bwahahahaha!
I guess hindi pala kami nagkakalayo ni Victoria Beckham.
On that note, I’m very proud to say now……
“I am Victoria Beckham”.
Feel free to barf. LOL

Life's A Beach

I hate the beach.
No.
I loathe the beach.
Like my favourite author Jessica Zafra, the things on the beach, e.g. sand, sun, hot temperature and the noise is something that activates my gag reflex.
Charing!
Me plus hot surrounding is so redundant. Haha! Plus, you can't wear gorgeous footwear sa beach. Di ba?
Last year, I spent almost all of my vacation leave somewhere na may beach. I just bring a good book ay solve na ako kahit magkulong lang sa kuwarto for the whole time na nasa tubig sila. Killjoy much? LOL
We went to Pindasan town in Mabini Davao del Norte, barely 2 hours from the city proper. Aside from Samal Island, Davao del Norte is your nearest option for beautiful white sand beaches without blowing your budget.
When we arrived at the Beach View, the place was already filled with people. I never thought people would flock the beaches on a New Year's Day. Maraming pamilya ang nagre-reunion. In short, maingay. Our cottage was near the volleyball court kaya anytime ay puedeng lumanding ang bola sa aming lamesa. Imagine the ball landing in the big bowl of bulalo. Catastrophic. Bwahahaha!
Fortunately, hindi naman nangyari yun.
We went home by 4pm because babiyahe pa kami pauwi. Although the place is beautiful, they don't have close cottages kaya those who want to stay overnight should bring tents. In terms of meeting 'prospects', the possibilities are endless. Yun na!
I'm so glad I made this trip.
I am now sporting a new golden (and a little pinkish) tan.
P.S.
I've created a new blog in wordpress. It's thesame blog actually, like a twin sister, only in different outfit. LOL
