Injustice

I therefore conclude that the justice system of our country sucks.

This morning, I and two of my companions together with our lawyer, attended the hearing of our attempted murder case we filed July of last year. For your information, this is just the preliminary conference and presentation of evidences for our case.

We arrived 15 minutes earlier than our scheduled time of 8:00am.

Unfortunately, our case was heard at around 10:00am because the judge arrived one hour and fifteen minutes late. Ours is not just the only case to be heard for the day ha. There were 10 other cases waiting to be heard inside the dilapidated makeshift courtroom (not the one in photo).

Two cases for arraignment and 8 others in different levels. Ganito pala sa mga korte noh. Hindi totoo yung mga napapanood natin sa mga palabas sa tv at pelikula. Walang drama, walang emote-emote. Unless yours is a high profile case at may mga media, yun baka sa espesyal na sala didinggin ang kaso mo. At mabilisan ang takbo ng hearing.

Meanwhile, after our case’s preliminary conference (I’m not sure if this is what you call it legally), our next hearing where our witness will take the stand is on the 3rd of August. That’s exactly 5 months from now. Ganyan katagal ang hihintayin namin bago madinig ulit ang aming kaso. Hay naku. One witness per hearing and we have 5 witnesses which means our case could take longer than expected. My gosh. Nakakaloka ang justice system ng Pilipinas.

At eto pa ha, I was wearing Jackie O. sunglasses inside the courtroom for a little drama (Charing! I was actually covering my eyes to hide the fear I’m feeling). Unfortunately, bawal pala magsuot ng big, dark sunglasses sa loob ng korte kaya napagalitan ako ng judge.

Juice ko ha, hindi naman ako ang accused noh. Pati ba naman fashion pakikialaman pa.

Kainis.

its good that justice in our beloved country still has a chance to be process, heard and discuss even if it will takes decades or centuries... unlike other countries, like where i belong now, it's very easy, very simple interrogations between the government & embassy. for at least 1 week, the case is closed, the verdict was announce. settlement has been done. because of our stupid embassy...

An-En: mu lang! selos lang siya. hahaha

Zano: thank you.

Garay: I still want faster results but not that fast naman like in just a week. I don't know why it had to take this long talaga. One witness per hearing is ridiculous.

Selene: I don't think it's really bawal. Baka sariling rule lang ito ng judge.

Ate Kiel: I think so too. hahaha

Hahahah! Nakakaloka kang mag-kuwento talaga. Paano kaya natin mababago ang lahat ng sistema sa Pinas. Is there anyway of undoing all these things? Nakaka-discourage talaga.
