Steady

I was browsing my iPod kanina kasi wala na naman kuryente dito. I noticed some songs that is in the playlist for many years already pero hindi ko naman palaging napapakinggan ng madalas and oftentimes when these songs are playing eh hindi ko matapos kasi I skip them palagi.

Sayang kasi kung i-delete because it's been there for so long. I think

I’m kinda ‘hoarding’ these songs.

Share ko na lang sa inyo ang ten songs that I really don’t like that much but saying naman kung burahin.

1. Hands by Jewel.

In fairness maganda ang pagkakasulat ng kantang ‘to kaya lang medyo nakakalungkot. My favourite line from the song would be, “in the end only kindness matters.”

2. Shackles (Praise You) by Mary Mary.

I think this is the first hit of the popular gospel duo. I didn’t know this was a praise song ha until I listened closely to the song.

3. Say What You Want by Texas.

When the video of this song came out, hindi ko rin nagustuhan. I find the face of Sharleen Spiteri annoying. Eventually, na-like ko na rin siya. Parang naging acquired taste.

4. Red Hot by Vanessa Mae.

One of the first hits of the pop violinist. Interesting din ang video nito where Vanessa Mae portrayed all of characters.

5. All ‘bout The Money by Meja.

Hindi ko alam ang title ng song na ‘to when it came out. Bongga naman ang song na ‘to. May recall and very catchy ang lyrics ng chorus.

6. Spin Spin Sugar by the Sneaker Pimps.

Sa totoo lang ha, I’m saving this song on my playlist because I like the Pimps’ first hit, Six Underground. Isa pa, very danceable naman ang song na ‘to.

7. Fast Car by Tracy Chapman.

This song is a classic but hearing it many times, nakakasawa din pala.

8. Hero by Enrique Iglesias.

9. Say You’ll Be There by the Spice Girls.

This is probably the one Spice Girls hit na hindi ko nagustuhan lalo na ang video. But as a die hard Spice Girls fan, obligasyon kong panatilihin ito forever.

10. Firestarter by The Prodigy.

One word: maingay. Kaya lang favourite band ng Ate ko ang Prodigy kaya for the sake of her, hindi ko binubura to.

Well, I think that’s it. For the moment, diyan na muna sila.

Nakatambak.

Blocked Out

2. Maglinis ng kuko. Oo, kahit madilim puede mo pa ring linisin ang kuko mo with the aid of the ever reliable nail-cutter and nail-file.

7. Organise your closet.

8. Gossip. Makipag-tsismisan through text or call a friend na maaari mong guluhin at kuwentuhan.

And finally....

10. Matulog. Ano pa nga ba? It’s the best form of relaxation.

Starting Young

They say fashion is ageless.

So true.

Literally.

Just look at the lovely Suri Cruise.

Lovely little heels.
Even Shiloh Jolie-Pitt can’t compete with that.

But now someone might dethrone Suri as the most fashionable toddler and news is that Suri is calling an emergency meeting with her stylists to discuss this possible nightmare.

And the reason is this.

Meet Mercy Ciccone.

Fashionably fabulous. Take note of the red nails.

So fierce. Just like her mother.

The Queen of Pop.

Suri is not happy.

Daddy Time

When I got home this evening I was super hungry since I have not eaten the entire day because as you all know, I'm trying to lose weight and I'm trying to consume only healthy foods.

Unfortunately, I just can't control myself.
Anyway, I came home very late and there's no food sa kusina. I decided to buy outside. My dad was in the living room so I asked him if he wants something to eat.

Eh gutom din pala siya.
I guess sa kanya ako nagmana. Palaging gutom. Hahaha!
So we got out of the house, hailed a cab and went for a fastfood fix.

Sa totoo lang, this is the first time in many years that only the two of us went out for something to eat.

Over Brothers Burger burgers, we talked about Philippine politics.

Now I know where I got my 'interest' in politics.

Nagmana pala ako sa kanya.

I love my daddy.

Diet

I know it's not yet too late for me to make a new year resolution.

Kakatapos lang naman ng Chinese New Year noh kaya puwede pang humabol.

As you my loyal friends know, I'm currently overweight and under a very unhealthy diet of mostly fast food and other cholesterol-rich foods. I've realised I'm not getting any younger and I think it's better to start eating healthier foods compared to what I'm currently enjoying. Mabuti na rin lang at I like fresh salads too.

In fairness I eat a lot of vegetables ha especially pinakbet but the problem is, I eat too much. When the ulam is so good I can consume more than 1 serving. Really. My close friends can attest to that. Sometimes, I eat dinner twice. Hahaha!

Anyway, starting Sunday, I promise to eat right and just consume enough food during the right time of the day. And I also promise to eat less rice. No seconds.

Goodbye fries.

Goodbye cheeseburger.

Goodbye soda.

Goodbye Mcdo.

Goodbye Jollibee.

Goodbye other fastfoods.

Good luck to me.

Imperfection

It is both sad and funny when some people think that they’re better than you just because they have better things and more adventures in life compared to what you have and what you experienced.

And it is sadder because in reality, those better things and experiences don’t even matter for most people.

And it is the saddest when during the time they considered themselves better than you and even showing it to your face, ironically it is actually them who has a lot of flaws that even the best doctors of the world cannot cure or mend. It is actually them who has a lot of mess to clean up.

The one thing that I’ve learned from this experience is to never judge a person for what they look, what they do and where they come from. Knowing is a long process. Impressions are good but are oftentimes not the reflection of what that person truly is.

Of course mistakes can be corrected and sins can be forgiven but that doesn’t mean it is forgotten.

The scar will always remain.

For a lifetime.

So be careful.

Prom Dream

It’s prom season once again.

Back in high school, the outfits I wore during our prom was just very basic. Playing safe kumbaga. During my junior year I wore a simple white long-sleeve shirt with pinstripes, a light blue tie and navy pants. My senior year, I just wore a brown cotton long-sleeve shirt with mao collar kasi ‘di ko type magsuot ng tie. Sagabal kapag kumakain. Hahaha!

I envy these high school students nowadays. They have a wider selection of outfits to choose from. Fashion magazines are readily available and you can also surf the internet for more inspiration.

Now, if only I would have the chance to attend the prom again. Given that I become a beautiful 16-year old girl, 5’5” tall, and money is not an object, these would have been my options.

Note: Please choose what’s best for me. Sige na pagbigyan niyo na ako. LOL

Carolina Herrera

Donna Karan

I like this dress because the cut is classic and lilitaw ang pagka-mestisa ko dito. Charot!

Victoria Beckham

The color is very bold and I like it. Walang embellishment kaya babawiin ko na lang sa accessories to complete the look.

Lela Rose

The print is quite unusual but interesting in a good way para sa prom and I think this will work. Stand out.

Koi Suwannagate

Another black number pero you notice sa baba. Is that a green lining? Bongga!

Diane von Furstenberg

I love this short dress. Very flirty. Bwahaha!

Monique Lhuillier

Hindi kaya ako magmukhang foil nito? At least sosyal noh dahil kulay gold.

Erin Fetherston

Another short flirty dress. Hahaha!

Christian Siriano

Eto naman feel ko kung gusto ko ng grand entrance especially kapag late nang dumating, this will surely turn heads. Literally.

and my ultimate dream look goes to...

Stella McCartney

Simple, chic and modern. Just like me. No need to accessorize dahil itsura ko pa lang winner na. Charing!

Which is your favourite?

Interconnecting Love

Despite the fact that I lost my wallet and I don’t have money to make gastos during Valentine’s Day, it did not stopped me and two of my friends Edz and Mei from watching Valentine’s Day.

The movie boasts of an all-star cast led by Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Taylor Swift and Jessica Alba to name a few. See full cast HERE. It is directed by Garry Marshall.

I think it’s the perfect movie for Valentine’s Day.
Each character displays a specific kind of love. A love that is not just for lovers, but love in all kinds of relationship and aspect of life.

Love between sweethearts.

Love between a mother and child.

Young love.

Long-lasting love.

Gay love.

Love that is unfaithful.

Love that is cruel and hateful.

Love between kids.

Love for the kids.

Love for someone you just knew.

At marami pang iba.

Ah basta panoorin niyo at hindi kayo magsisisi. The movie is 2 hours long but the time spent is so worth it. It is way better that that sci-fi movie with blue actors.
I even dropped a tear in my two favourite scenes from the movie. The first one was the scene between Bradley Cooper and Eric Dane and that scene with Julia Roberts and Bryce Robinson. Why did I cry? Kung hindi pa, well it’s for you to find out.

Some critics called the movie shallow with a weak storyline but for me Valentine’s Day is one of the best romantic movies of all time.

Lost Again

Yesterday was not a good day for me.

Yes, it was Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year at the same time but I did not fully enjoy what these holidays had to offer.

I lost my wallet.

This is probably the 5th time that I got my wallet either stolen or I accidentally left or dropped it somewhere. Eto ngayon hindi ko maalala. I think I dropped it nung sumakay or bumaba ako from Edz' car. I can't recall. Tanga talaga ako.

Now I’m totally broke and I had to borrow money from a friend so I could still report to work today. Mabuti na lang today is payday. Thank God.

Now I had to apply for new ID’s and credit card replacement. Hassle talaga. Ang mamahal pa naman ng replacement fees.

Credit card replacement can take a week or two to arrive. Some could take a month. Replacement for driver’s license could take 3 months or longer while TIN and SSS ID replacement, you have to wait a whopping 6 months. Mabuti na lang I could get instant replacement with the company ID and Postal ID.

Sayang din ang discount, privilege, rewards, and loyalty cards ko from various establishments.

Big sigh.

Why did I have to suffer this kind of punishment?

Mabait naman ako for the past week ah. Wala akong inaway. I went to church last Sunday. I was wearing short shorts nga lang but I still looked presentable and not slutty.

I know I do not deserve this but I have accepted it with a half of my heart. Isa pa, that wallet is so gorgeous. I bought it for my birthday last year at full price from Mango.

It was in a leopard print.

I miss it already.

Lalo na ang contents.

Turning Chinese

Valentines Day is just a few hours from now.

As usual, like the past years, I’m gonna spend it like it’s just another Sunday. I hate Valentine. It’s just an occasion created by businessmen so that they can sell merchandise and create businesses out of it. Bitter much? Hahaha!

This year though, Valentines Day is going to be different because the dreaded V-day falls on the same day as the Chinese New Year.

I like Chinese New Year.

I think it’s way better than January 1st because there’s more food. There’s more celebration and traditions. And there’s more fireworks. Well at least in our case.
I’m not Chinese or Chinoy ha. Sa laki ba naman ng mata ko. I can’t deny my British roots. Charing!

I like Chinese food especially dumplings and noodles.

Juice ko ‘day, it’s my favourite food next to homemade spaghetti.

Noong sumikat ang F4 a few years ago, juice ko, let’s just say ang level ng obsession ko is at the ultimate jologs high.

Pati F4 merchandise hindi ko rin pinaligtas to the point of almost buying a Yamaha Mio motorcycle (F4 was endorsing said motorcycle model at that time) just to get the F4 tarpaulin displayed at the showroom so that I can put it in my bedroom. Hahaha! Buti na lang at natauhan ako.

Siguro in my past life nanirahan ako in China or somewhere oriental. Siguro naging concubine ako ng isang Chinese emperor.

Malamang isa akong malanding concubine.

Xin Nian Kuai Le!
